Come and Sing - Choral Classics 3 (The American Connection)

Tim will lead you through this day singing music in the wonderful Dewsbury Minster, based on the theme of 'Choral Classics 3 - The American Connection' celebrating the beauty of music from American Composers. Some of the music we will be looking at will include:

'The Seal Lullaby' by Eric Whitacre

'Alleluia', 'Choose something like a star (Frostiana)' and 'Seven last words of David' by Randall Thompson

'Sure on this shining night' by Morten Lauridsen

'Sanctus' by Craig Courtney

'Inscription of Hope' by Z. Randall Stroope

'Kyrie' by John Leavitt

The final selection of pieces will be decided nearer the day based on the balance of singers attending. Our sing days are relaxed and fun but also require fast learning of the pieces so some previous experience of choral singing and the ability to sight-read is preferable to get the best out of the day.

Here is a brief itinerary of the day:

Registration and Coffee:    10.00 - 10.30

Rehearsal session 1:             10.30 - 12.30 (includes refreshment break)

Lunch break:                            12.30 - 13.30

Rehearsal session 2:             13.30 - 15.30 (includes refreshment break)

Review of the day:                 15.30 - 16.00

The ticket price includes the provision of all music required for the day and refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) on arrival and in the breaks. Lunch is not, however, included and is at the attendee's expense. 

Each attendee on the day will receive a £5.00 voucher which can be redeemed against future sing days, holidays, or other TKM products. If you already hold a voucher from a previous sing day, then you can redeem it at checkout using the code on the voucher.

Participants are required to have their own valid travel insurance where applicable (please make sure this covers cancellation due to Covid) and attend TKM events at their own risk. Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund due to non-attendance as we are required to pay the venue in advance and will incur cancellation charges.
